Damaged asbestos materials release fibers and pose risk to you and your family.
Asbestos is and mineral fiber and was used in homes built generally between 1930s – mid 1970s in a variety of building materials because of its heat resistance and fiber strength. Before remodeling an old home, consider getting an asbestos test to minimize exposure to harmful materials.
Why is asbestos harmful?
Asbestos causes major heath issues such as mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis.
What can I expect during an asbestos test?
I will look at the interior and exterior areas of your home, checking for visible signs of asbestos, which include: exterior siding and shingles, attic and wall insulation, vinyl floor tiles, water pipes, patching and joint compounds.
A sample is take of the material and placed in a clean container such as a plastic vial or high quality resealable plastic bag.
The sample is then sent to EMSL Analytical, Inc. for analysis. A report is generated once the test is completed.
